Envirosafe Ireland offer a hard-wired CO2 Monitor for schools looking at re-opening safely during the Covid-19 crisis.
Many schools are monitoring CO2 as an indication of deteriorating air quality/poor ventilation.
Elevated CO2 levels (caused by people exhaling) are taken as a cue to ventilate the room, by opening windows. If the room is well ventilated, spread of Covid-19 will be reduced.
Outdoor air contains approximately 400 ppm. Breathing generates CO2, so the indoor CO2 concentration will always be at least 400 ppm and usually higher.
An indoor CO2 level of 1150 ppm provides adequate air quality and 1600 ppm indicates poor air quality. 800 or 1000ppm is recommended as the point to increase ventilation.
The CO2M Carbon Dioxide Monitor provides a bold visual indication using a traffic light LCD, as well as having a digital readout to display the current levels/concentrations
With a built-in mains rated volt free contact, the unit can be easily interfaced with Ventilation and Window Control Systems, as well as Gas Safety Systems. Or it can simply be used as a traffic light indicator to advise further ventilation is required.
The unit offer four pre-set programs, two aimed at ventilation and two aimed at gas safety. These affect the traffic light and relay setpoints.
